Yin Yoga is a perfect compliment to the other dynamic (yang) styles of yoga or other exercise and to help you find a little calm as you turn in. Yin yoga is a static meditative, floor-based practice, gently targeting fascia, ligament and tendons (yin) tissue, those layers on the inside. The postures are held for time (usually 2-5 minutes) with the use of yoga props to support any body in any pose, create space, balance and energy as the joints release to their full range of motion. Yin yoga postures improve the flow of ‘life force’ or ‘chi’ through the meridian channels of the entire body.
The personalised class will explore various breathing techniques and provides an overall deep state of meditation. This practice calms and balances the mind, reduces stress and anxiety and encourages you to develop a more introspective practice. Learn and practice the principles of Yin Yoga to develop your own practice of this beautiful and beneficial style of yoga. Suitable for beginners and all levels of students.
